If you are looking for a habit tracker with pets — an app where finishing your tasks raises a creature rather than filling a bar chart — the mechanic you want is a reward that takes real days to arrive. In Animunda, points from completed tasks feed Cores in your garden until they manifest into Animas, creatures that then live there and level up on the work you keep doing.
A streak number is abstract. A creature is not. When progress is attached to something that visibly changes — grows, hatches, evolves, moves around a garden — the reward has a shape you remember between sessions. The useful part is the delay. A pet you finish in an afternoon is a toy. A pet that takes a week of real tasks to manifest gives you a reason to open the app on the day you least feel like it, because there is something specific waiting halfway through.
Creatures start as Cores. You put a Core into one of the nests in your garden, and from then on every task you complete sends points into it. When the Core reaches its species threshold, it manifests and the Anima joins your garden. Thresholds differ by species, so choosing which Core to nest is a choice about how long a project you want. Cores come from gameplay milestones or from the Anima Market. Once an Anima is out, it keeps growing. Completed tasks pay XP to your active Animas, which level them up and carry them toward their evolution stages.
Every Anima belongs to a type, and each type has its own character: • Fire — fierce and passionate creatures that burn bright • Water — calm and adaptive creatures from rivers and seas • Earth — sturdy and reliable creatures rooted in stone • Wind — swift and playful creatures carried by the breeze • Light — radiant creatures that illuminate your garden • Dark — mysterious and elusive nocturnal creatures • Nature — botanical creatures intertwined with plants and flowers • Bug — tiny but mighty creatures that crawl and fly A garden with all eight types in it looks like what it is: a lot of finished tasks.
Animas come in six tiers: Common, Uncommon, Rare, Epic, Legendary and Mythic. Rarer creatures have higher base stats and distinct designs, and their Cores need more points before they manifest. That gives the collection a natural difficulty curve. Early on you are hatching Commons in a few days. Later you are running a Legendary Core in the background across a couple of weeks of ordinary chores, which is exactly the horizon a habit needs.
Some creature-based trackers put your pet at risk: skip your tasks and it loses health, wilts or dies. That turns a companion into a source of guilt, and guilt is what makes people delete the app. Animunda holds the opposite line. Miss a day and nothing happens to your Animas. The streak counter pauses; the garden stays as you left it. Your creatures wait for you.
The garden is the display case. Hatched Animas roam it, you unlock more nests as you go, and you choose which favourites are on show. You can add friends by username and visit their gardens, and send challenges — daily task completion, total XP, or streak length over a set period. It turns a private habit into something with a witness, which for most people is the difference between week one and week ten.
Signing up takes about half a minute and needs no credit card. Set up the handful of habits you actually want to build as daily or recurring tasks, nest your first Core, and complete something today. The free tier includes the whole loop: tasks, Cores, the garden, collecting, friends and challenges. A supporter subscription at $3.99 a month adds a 1.25x XP bonus and a shorter cooldown on the 2x XP Boost, for people who want to grow faster.
Set up the habits you want to build, complete your first task today, and watch a Core start manifesting. Free, and no credit card.
Start growing — freeAnimunda is one. Completing daily tasks sends points into Cores placed in your garden nests; when a Core reaches its species threshold it manifests into an Anima that lives in your garden and levels up as you keep completing tasks.
Nothing. Animunda does not damage or remove creatures when you miss days. Your streak counter pauses and your garden stays exactly as you left it.
It depends on the species and on how much you complete. Each species has its own point threshold, and rarer creatures need more points, so a Common Core manifests in a few days of ordinary tasks while a Legendary one is a longer project.
Animas span eight elemental types — Fire, Water, Earth, Wind, Light, Dark, Nature and Bug — across six rarity tiers from Common to Mythic. New species are added as the game grows.
Yes. Cores are earned through gameplay milestones on the free tier. The Anima Market is there if you would rather pick a specific Core, but it is not required to build a collection.
